Some springs even take you back in time, like Devil’s Den Spring & Campground in Levy County. This underground spring sits inside a 120-ft. cave containing ancient fossils of extinct animals from the Pleistocene Age; many finds are displayed at the University of Florida’s Museum of Natural History. Whether visitors are an amateur archaeologist, an adrenaline-seeking diver or simply curious with a snorkel, there’s an adventure waiting at Devil’s Den.

If the thought of exploring a cave is intriguing, and your clients would rather skip the water, then recommend they head to Florida Caverns State Park near Marianna, whose above-ground limestone caves feature spectacular stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, columns and other formations that took thousands of years to form. Guided tours take them deep into the caverns, and there’s a visitors center with exhibits. But if the water is calling, the Blue Hole Spring is nearby.
