British Airways Unveils New Premium Lounge at MIA

British Airways has officially opened its new premium lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA). This new facility introduces the airline’s latest lounge design concept, developed in collaboration with international architecture and design firm, Gensler.

“We’re thrilled to be unveiling our new design concept with the new lounge in Miami, alongside Dubai, which also opened very recently. The unique space was created with our customers in mind and is the next step in our extensive lounge transformation plan. Whether they’re looking to relax, dine, work or enjoy a drink at the fully staffed bar, there’s something for everyone,” said Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, in a media statement.

Key Features and Highlights

The 13,000-square-foot lounge, located in Terminal E above its departure gate, is the largest British Airways-operated facility outside London and the first dedicated lounge the airline has opened in Miami in decades.

“We are honoured to have partnered with British Airways to carve the path for the Global Lounge Concepts being introduced around the world. Hospitality driven and inspired by the heritage of British Airways, combined with the rich vibrancy of each location, the lounges will reflect a global journey framed through a British lens. Welcoming, intuitive and bold, the new lounges offer a surprising retreat for travellers to relax, work and socialise in the midst of their travels,” said Ashley Dowell, Design Director, Senior Associate at Gensler, in a media statement.

The lounge features a full-service bar and five distinctive zones, including a central bar, main dining space, focus pods and a lowered lounge with partitions for private seating. Amenities include two shower suites and washrooms.

Guests can enjoy seasonal dishes such as papaya and lacinato kale salad with toasted coconut and citrus honey vinaigrette or seared flounder with lemon, Kalamata olives, fried capers and rice. First-class travelers have access to the exclusive Concorde Dining Room, which features à la carte service with premium options including Wagyu beef, roasted diver scallops and Champagne and sparkling wines.

The Miami lounge follows the recent opening of British Airways’ Dubai International Airport lounge, a 5,800-square-foot space in the airport’s Terminal 1.
