Visit Lauderdale, the official destination marketing organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale, recently released a new roundup of developments across the region—from restaurants to hotels and buzzing entertainment—giving both residents and visitors plenty to explore this summer.

The update serves as a valuable resource when planning customized getaways, beach escapes or short-haul trips for clients seeking something new in South Florida. The region’s latest offerings can help you suggest fresh experiences for repeat visitors or introduce first-timers to the Greater Fort Lauderdale area.

Savor the Scene in Fort Lauderdale

Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse is the newest addition to Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk. The restaurant blends Texas-style barbecue and Japanese flavors. With a Texas-built smoker, the restaurant can serve a 12-hour smoked brisket, pastrami short ribs, half-chickens and sausage topped with flame-roasted kimchi and yuzu pickles. The menu highlights Japanese street food favorites, from beech mushroom tempura with “Tokyo ranch” and Fuji apple-glazed pork belly.

At Sakana Nikkei, Peruvian flavor meets Japanese cuisine. The restaurant’s ambiance mirrors its menu, combining both cultures through its thoughtfully curated space. Located in a restored 1920s church, Jay’s Steakhouse offers a contemporary take on the traditional steakhouse experience. The restaurant features modern design elements and a chef-curated tasting menu.

D’s Sports Bar is an upscale sports bar located within the Michelin-recognized Daniel’s, A Florida Steakhouse. The menu features a double-patty smash burger, a crispy hog fish sandwich and Wagyu Denver steak frites.

Parlor Doughnuts has opened in Flagler Village. Known for its signature layered, flaky doughnuts, the doughnut shop offers a wide range of creative flavors from maple bacon and churro to keto and vegan-friendly options.

Reimagined Stays

Beach House Fort Lauderdale, a Hilton Resort, has recently completed renovations. Located along Fort Lauderdale Beach, the updated property features modern design elements inspired by the surrounding environment. The resort’s 375 redesigned suites include full kitchens or kitchenettes and separate living and sleeping areas. Accommodations start at 640 square feet, with options for adjoining suites. The renovation also includes a newly redesigned lobby, entrance and updated dining venues.

Conveniently located in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the hotel is frequently used by cruise passengers due to its proximity to Port Everglades. It is also near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Broward County Convention Center.

Enchanted Evenings

Seventeen floors above 17th Street, the newly reopened Pier Top at Pier Sixty-Six invites guests to take in 360-degree views from of Fort Lauderdale. Officially recognized as a historic site, this sky-high destination offers oysters and caviar, which are perfectly paired with an innovative cocktail and Champagne experience.

At HIYDE in Lauderhill, guests can enjoy bites and a cocktail while relishing while enjoying live jazz music performed by seasoned entertainers. For a speakeasy vibe, there’s the  Swizzle Rum Bar & Drinkery serving craft cocktails with a selection of more than 150 rums.

New Entertainment and Experiences

The Fort, a professional pickleball stadium, has opened with 43 tournament-quality courts. The facility offers opportunities for competitive play, clinics, private lessons and includes on-site food and beverage options. Designed for both experienced players and beginners, The Fort combines sport and social engagement in a purpose-built setting.

Also new to the region, the Museum of Discovery & Science has unveiled the HoloTheater, the first of its kind on the East Coast. Launching with Dinosaur Discoveries: A Holographic Adventure this summer, the immersive experience uses three-dimensional holographic technology to bring life-size dinosaurs and the prehistoric era to visitors in an educational, cinematic format.
